JB Stumpwork is in a small East Anglian village 7 miles south of Norwich. The village has two public houses, one of which is mentioned in the Doomesday Book. There is also a fine Norman church and worth a visit.

Public transport runs into Norwich frequently.

The Guest Room has two single beds. Bring a friend or your partner. Coffee/tea making facilities. Use of private bathroom Use of workroom.

Breakfast, light lunch, evening meal provided. Dietary requirements catered for.

Treat yourself to a long weekend or a week of in depth work where your stay will be fun,challenging and you will leave with a new skill that you will cherish.

Although you will probably not have a finished article in such a short time you will have gained the knowledge and confidence to complete your project in your own time.

Breakfast / light lunch / evening meal (partners do not have to take part in the stumpwork sessions!).

Please bring:

Pictures/photos/designs/drawings for a piece of work you would like to reproduce. Don’t worry if you are not certain about what you have in mind straight away. There will always be something that triggers your imagination as we progress.

An embroidery hoop big enough to accommodate the design. (remember that the piece of work will be in miniature. A figure will stand about 8cm high).

Your thread box.

Fabric suitable for the background work. If you are unsure, come along and we will take a look at what is best for a finished piece and start on the stumpwork design.

Small needles. (a large needle is too awkward).
